# Roomtone > Roomtone is an AI meeting notes app for iPhone and iPad. It records the meeting, the client call or the site visit from the phone's microphone — no extra device and no bot — and gives back a summary, the decisions, the action items and the full transcript. For Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams it can also send a notetaker into the call. Free for 30 minutes of recording a month; Roomtone Pro is $119.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, $14.99 a month or $9.99 a week (US prices). ## Facts - App Store: "Roomtone: AI Note Taker", https://apps.apple.com/app/id6738305903 - Recording: iPhone and iPad, iOS 16 or later. There is no Android or Mac recording. The web app at https://roomtone.io/app reads, searches and chats with notes already recorded; it does not record. - Account: sign in with Apple or Google before the first recording. - Free plan: 30 minutes of recording a month with the transcript, summary, action items and a share link, no card. A recording started with minutes left is finished in full; the minutes reset on the 1st. - Roomtone Pro (US): $119.99/year with a 7-day free trial (yearly plan only), $14.99/month, $9.99/week. Prices differ by country; billing is by Apple. Pro adds unlimited recording, the notetaker for Zoom, Meet and Teams, importing audio files and YouTube links, chat across all notes, and export (PDF, Markdown, plain text, email). - Team plans: https://roomtone.io/teams. - What one recording gives: a structured summary, Decisions, Action Items (owners and dates where they were said), Risks, and a transcript that can be searched, edited and corrected — the notes can be written again from a corrected transcript. - Recording keeps going with the screen locked. If a phone call interrupts it, it resumes when the call ends and comes back as one file. - Languages: over 100. The notes come back in the language that was spoken. - Privacy: the audio is used to make the transcript and then deleted from the server; the phone keeps its own copy until you delete it. Nothing is used to train a model. - Honest limits: Roomtone does not label speakers by name. It cannot record the other side of a phone call by itself (iOS gives the microphone to the call) — put the call on speaker and it records the room. The notetaker only joins a call it is sent to, and everyone in the call sees it. - For developers: a REST API and an MCP server for Claude and other MCP clients — https://roomtone.io/developers and https://roomtone.io/mcp. ## Pages - [Home and pricing](https://roomtone.io/): what Roomtone does, the plans, and what it does not do - [Support](https://roomtone.io/support): recordings, transcripts, subscriptions, refunds, deleting your data - [Roomtone for Teams](https://roomtone.io/teams): team plans - [MCP](https://roomtone.io/mcp): ask Claude about your meetings - [Developers](https://roomtone.io/developers): the API and the MCP server ## Comparisons and alternatives - [The Best AI Note Takers for iPhone in 2026, Compared](https://roomtone.io/compare/best-ai-note-taker-iphone): Roomtone, Otter, Granola, Fireflies, Plaud and Apple Notes compared on price, free plan, recording a meeting in the room and joining video calls.
